One of the things I love about living in the small area we do is finding lil' small town stores. The Orchard Country Store just opened about 2 years ago. Its right off one of the small country roads near my town. I could go to the big chain stores like PetSmart or Petco and get my pet supplies but I would rather support the local family owned business. Besides my little store has great prices and super friendly service. The hours are not as late as the big chain store but the service is far better. Besides check out the veiw you get standing outside the store! That alone is worth it ...and then you get more of it on the 2 or 3 mile drive out of town to get to it. The chain stores are at least 15mins from our house. With the way gas prices are that is way too far to go anyhow! The boys love coming here too. They have a few critters inside for the boys to look at and pet. This past visit we found the newest addition in the way of a little hamster. Riley wanted to see the baby chickens but they have long since grown up (they have chicks in early spring). Throughout the summer they have fun activites as well. When fall comes you can get the fresh apples they grow in there orchards. I don't know if you can see on the sign but right now its green beans, apples and honey.
